Another year and Mobile World Congress comes and goes, and with that so does any interesting Android news for at least the next week. While this year's MWC may not have brought us the Samsung Galaxy S III we did get to see the HTC One X and around 30 other high-profile product annoucements.
MWC 2012 - Android booth look back video
The Android team has uploaded a video onto their Youtube channel, showing off what their amazing booth looked like during the 2012 Mobile World Congress, for those who couldn't attend it for themselves. Something as amazing as this must've taken days of construction and endless planning. Lets have a look back at this fun event through the eyes of the Android team.
Samsung GALAXY S II awarded “Best Smartphone”

Samsung Electronics Co, Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, announced that the GALAXY S II was named “Best Smartphone” by GSMA, an organization that represents the interests of the worldwide mobile communications industry and hosts the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona. This honor comes in recognition of the device’s powerful performance and overwhelming response from consumers. GALAXY S II, Samsung’s flagship smartphone, achieved worldwide sales of over 10 million units in only 5 months, quicker than any device in Samsung’s history and surpassed over 20 million sales in 10 months.
All humans to have an Android
Google's chairman Eric Schmidt gave a keynote speech at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. He touched on the fact that this show was dedicated to high end devices and realises that only a small percentage of people will get access to these devices. “We talk about how everyone has a cellphone, but only about one billion have a phone,” he said. “For most people, the digital revolution has not arrived yet.” Mr Schmidt believes in the migration from people using mobile to people using smartphones will be far easier than getting people online using a computer.

HTC One Series Unveiled

Guide to the Mobile World Congress
Next week will see thousands of journalists flock to Barcelona in order to experience the sights and sounds of the Mobile World Congress (MWC). It is one of the most important events on the mobile industry calendar and will see a host of exciting new smartphones making their first appearance.
Although little has been confirmed in relation to the products and software which will launch during MWC, there have been plenty of tasty rumours doing the rounds which reveal some of the frantic work going on behind the scenes. Mobile World Congress is fast arriving and while LG has basically revealed its entire MWC lineup already by announcing 7 phones in the last 5 days, there is bound to be some secrets kept until Monday.
In case you didn't know Mobile World Congress is an annual mobile conference held in Barcelona for industry professionals but is also home to hundreds of product launches. Anyone can attend assuming they can get to Barcelona for the last weekend in February and have a few thousand Euro to spend on a entry pass.
LG Optimus 4X HD, what a beast!
You've possibly already heard the news of an LG superphone that will be officially announced at the Mobile World Congress next week. The phone will be known as the Optimus 4X HD and it's a beast. For those of you that haven't seen the specs, let me bring you up to speed.
The Optimus 4X HD will boast Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and will be powered by a Nvidia Tegra 3 1.5Ghz quadcore processor. Five cores if you include the fifth core that takes care of the basic functions on the device that don't need highend processing power. This is known as the "companion core".
